40G 300 Pin Transponders

The 40 Gbps Transponder is a 300 pin MSA compliant module for VSR2000 applications. Using an NRZ line coding scheme, the transmitter section is based on a cost-effective, 1550 nm electro-absorption modulator with a high-performance laser driver.

PIN based low-noise receiver is incorporated to provide optimum performance. A set of advanced, mixed signal Mux and Demux ICs translate the OC-768, STM-256, or G.709 compatible data stream to an SFI-5 compliant, high-speed differential output, allowing direct connection to a framer or FEC IC on the host board.

The transponder also provides controls and monitors for key transponder operations via the 40G 300 pin MSA pin map and the I2C interface, which is fully compliant to the MSA’s I2C Edition 4 Management Interface.
